Year Book Meeting Three

Today's meeting was the best from our perspective. I honestly think we are making massive progress, much more than I thought we would at this stage. The preparation we have already undertaken means that even if a spanner is thrown in the works, we can respond to it and still meet our deadlines.

The meeting was opened with an abundance of layouts, too many to allow the client to see our main ideas. We explained the ones that we considered the strongest of the designs and allowed them to dictate our direction based on the collection and selection of ideas that we thought were successful. We felt it was important for the client to have a choice, but still do what we felt was right for the course. We explained our ideas and the interdisciplinary team agreed that this was the way forward.

We discussed colour and our ideas for colour. In contrast, they also had ideas about what colours they wanted to use so we will now take those ideas on board when selecting from the Pantone books. They felt a combination of green and grey was something they wanted to work with.

We provided the stock that we had chosen along with alternative samples of gloss and matt papers. The Regency Satin was well received but as I had said to them before it could prove expensive as it is a premium stock. We mentioned we will be looking to visit the printers at a later stage to see what stock they would advise on.

They showed us the work they had done for the profile photography and the work they had done on the installation. We were really happy with what they had and we agreed a deadline for the copy and images. The installation is still under consideration, and I believe we will address that closer to the deadline for print because of the preparation that has to go into sculpting and installing the finished piece in the studio.
