I sent the finals for my flatland book to print today, and they are looking very good indeed. I am really happy with how they have turned out conceptually. The final idea behind the cover is based on a mathematical grid from the book 'grid index' by Carston Nicolai. This grid is representative of the flatland world. The grey squares that fill the grid are flatlanders and the author's character and acquaintance from another world are portrayed as 3d objects.
This concept is directly related to the content of the book, which portrays flatlanders as people or beings that can only see two dimensionally, and cannot contemplate extra dimensions. When the authors character meets someone from another world his perception of this world is changed forever.
